New Galleries coming: big waves on Lake Superior, as seen on CNN; First Snow, featuring fall colors and an early October snowfall; fall colors at the Porkies and in the Keweenaw; several galleries highlighting the sights of Yellowstone and featuring the Museum of the National Park Ranger.
The various Houghton Rotary galleries, along with the 2004 -- 2007 RYLA galleries, are now found at http://www.houghtonrotary.smugmug.com.
Visiting the GalleryOnDaLine:
Use the scroll bar on the right to scroll down and tour the "galleries" available for viewing or printing. Once in a gallery, you may select pictures to view from the "thumbnail" displays. You may view pictures as "small", with the other thumbnails, as "medium" or as "large," which will fill your screen; some galleries permit "original," giving full image size to check fine detail. Original and large views in some galleries are restricted to preclude downloading of the larger image. If you order prints of that image, the full-size, original image is used for printing.
Notice that you can change the display arrangements to suit your fancy. What is especially useful is the ability to have all of the pictures in a gallery play as a slide show, using various image sizes. You may quickly scan all of the pictures in a gallery by changing the "Style" to All Thumbs, and then clicking on individual pictures to see a larger view.

To support non-profit groups and organizations in our community we will photograph your event without charge and place a selection of event photos on-line here in its own gallery. Participants, friends and relatives are then able to view the gallery for free and purchase prints or downloads through the site. As an incentive to the non-profit group or organization to advertize the gallery and encourage particpants to visit and make purchases, 20% of the proceeds from the sale of prints and downloads are returned to the non-profit (after a modest amount to offset photography expenses has been recovered through sales).
Please visit the prints & gifts section. Smugmug.com has contracted with high quality, reasonably priced printing services. They offer photo quality papers with long-life inks. While many home printers accept photo-quality paper, they do not use archival quality inks -- thus your prints are likely to fade within a year or so. Fading can be minimized if the print is placed behind class and is not placed where direct sunlight hits it.
