The Keweenaw Symphony Orchestra and the Michigan Tech Concert Choir, under the direction of Dr. Milt Olsson, gave their spring 2009 performance at the Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday evening, April 18. Here are pictures from the rehearsal and the performance. The concert bill included a Mass, by Gustaf Gundlach, which Milt had fleshed out based on an unpublished manuscript from the composer, the grandfather of a long-time Houghton businessman. The other major piece in the concert was a Mass, composed by Dr. Olsson.
This performance marked the retirement of Milt Olsson after a 33 year career at Michigan Tech. Among the honors announced, a musical scholarship in Milt's name was established.
