Shirley & Al, December 30, 2007 : Shirley Galbraith and Allan Baker were married on December 30, 2007. The wedding was a part of the Sunday service of the Keweenaw Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, and was conducted by the Rev. Sydney Morris. Nearly 100 friends and family joined them in the celebration of their marriage. Although their courtship was rather long (more than 30 years) the ceremony was graceful and relatively short. A pot luck reception was held on the third floor of the Bluffs, overlooking Houghton.

An Introductory Wedding Gallery : This Gallery gives you an idea of the display capabilities for your wedding pictures. Notice that "thumbnails" of the pictures are displayed on the left, with a "small" size of the selected image on the right. You can also select an image and display it as "large." The access to the original sized image is restricted in this gallery, but it is used to make any prints ordered through this site.

Note that it is also possible to adjust the display in the "style" box above to change the display in a number of ways, including displaying all the images in the gallery as a slide show.

While you might get satisfactory small prints using the "large" image sizes, enlargements from images you download here won't be very satisfactory. Also, most home printers do not use very durable inks, so prints printed at home are subject to fading in a relatively short time. This site's contract printers use high quality inks and papers, assuring a much longer life for your images.

Information on accessing this web site is given to all the guests attending a wedding. In turn, they may visit the site to see the pictures of this special day and order the prints they want. It is possible to restrict viewing using passwords, if desired.

Pam & Jim, November 25, 2006 : Pam Rathke and Jim Lembke were married in Houghton on Saturday, November 25, 2006 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Bucky Beach performing the service.

You may view these pictures several ways. Experiment and find what you like. Generally, medium size will be best for a slide show, unless you have a high-speed connection and wish to use the large size. Original size is good for doing a fine detail inspection before you decide to order a print or download. One good way to view these pictures is to select "slideshow" in the styles box, above. Note that if you scroll through to the page you want to begin with, say the ceremony, you may start the show at that point instead of at the beginning. Then just click to exit.

These pictures are download-restricted, but you may purchase a download of the original image, in addition to a variety of high quality prints mad from the original image, through this site. All pictures here are copyright 2006 by Bill Fink Communications, LLC. Prints and downloads may be made for personal, non-commercial use. Contact me for commercial uses.

Best wishes to Pam & Jim for a long and happy marriage.

Cat & Dave, December 31, 2005 : Catherine Dowling and David Leonard were married on December 31, 2005. This quiet, simple ceremony took place along the Swedetown Cross Country Ski Trails in Calumet, Michigan. Their ceremony was conducted by Barry Elizabeth Fink, a lay celebrant from the Keweenaw Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Houghton. Two willing skiers from Wisconsin were snared in the parking lot to serve as witnesses, hold the rings, and run the video camera. After the brief ceremony, the party retired to the Swedetown Chalet, where the appropriate paperwork was signed and a few more photos were taken. Best wishes to Cat and Dave for a long and happy marriage, eh? Please remember that the original, high resolution images will be used for any prints you order through Smugmug, even though you cannot access the original, high resolution image for previewing here.

Jenn & Dusty, July 30, 2005 : My daughter Jenn married Dusty Kemp on Saturday, July 30, 2005. You may see all of these as a slide show if you click on the Style button above and select Slide Show. You can run the slide show with various image sizes; I suggest switching to large or even viewing the show full screen. I've started with the formals before and after the ceremony (pages 1 - 2 in this gallery). No, I didn't shoot during the ceremony -- I sat and dabbed at tears. I then added a selection of photos featuring family and friends in the time before and after the wedding. We had a cookout at our house (pgs 2 - 4), took family to the beach (pgs 4 - 6), had a rehearsal (pgs 6 - 10), chartered the Isle Royale Queen IV for a rehearsal pizza party (pgs 10 - 15), had a busy wedding day at the Keweenaw Mountain Lodge getting ready (pgs 15 - 19), shot some additional photos before and after the ceremony (pgs 19 - 23), had a wonderful reception and dinner (pgs 23 - 28), had a really great party (pgs 28 - 39), had more time with family afterwards (pgs 39 - 44), and then Jenn and Dusty went to Isle Royale for the start of their honeymoon (pgs 44 - 48). Finally, pages 48 - 54 show the wonderful celebration of Jenn and Dusty's marriage hosted by Dusty's mom, Phyllis and her husband, Mickey, in Gardner, Ill. two weeks after the wedding.
I will be getting the negatives from the photographer we hired, scanning them, and adding them to the site in coming weeks. You are free to download the original images from this site for your non-commercial use. Smugmug offers excellent printing services -- be sure to check out their offerings. Many thanks to my adjunct photographers, JB and Sara, as well as Jenn and Dusty, and to Vic for running the video camera during the service.
