Catherine Dowling and David Leonard were married on December 31, 2005. This quiet, simple ceremony took place along the Swedetown Cross Country Ski Trails in Calumet, Michigan. Their ceremony was conducted by Barry Elizabeth Fink, a lay celebrant from the Keweenaw Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Houghton. Two willing skiers from Wisconsin were snared in the parking lot to serve as witnesses, hold the rings, and run the video camera. After the brief ceremony, the party retired to the Swedetown Chalet, where the appropriate paperwork was signed and a few more photos were taken.
