The Finlandia University Community Theater presented "The Andersonville Trial," a play by Saul Levitt, on April 7, 8, 9, and 10, 2005, in the Finnish American Heritage Center, in Hancock. The play dramatizes the trial of Captain Henry Wirz, the Confederate officer in charge of the notorious prison camp near Americus, Georgia. Wirz was convicted of war crimes and hanged. His trial served as the legal precedent for the Nuremburg Tribunals. These are pictures of the production in progress.
